Albarella has an eventful history characterized by courage and dedication. The island was originally discovered by Cavaliere Roberto Scagliarini, who acquired it in 1941 and worked hard to make it habitable. In the 1970s and 1980s, Credit Suisse equipped the island with the necessary infrastructure, making Albarella known as the “isola su misura” – a place where every guest can spend a vacation “made to measure”, be it through sport, leisure or culture. 1988 marked another turning point when the “Lion of Mantua”, Steno Marcegaglia, took over Albarella S.p.A.. Today, Albarella is a modern and exclusive vacation resort.
